Category: Let's talk
Yeah, well I was just talking to a friend about if it should actually be legal. Any people enjoy a joint every now and again? Do any of you roll up spliffs on a regular basis? Just curous about what you all hink about it.
It's not cool and I don't do it.
Troy
Yeah me either same for me I don't do that stuff though I know family members who do it and it irritates my eyes making them inflammed since I was born with chronic eye infections smoking would make it worse.
i don't do it either.
I don't do it, but I think it should be legal for a lot of reasons.
I used to do it, but now I hate it. Don't care whether others do it or not. That's their business.
Bob
Hi,
I tried it a few times when I was in college. I actually do think it should be legalized for a number of reasons. One of which is that when it's legal, they can tax the hell out of it.
Jen
Weed is bad, reeefer madness!
It should be legalized! Whether people do it or not isn't my business, but I know that when my aunt was dying of cancer, it was the only thing that really worked to handle the nausia. I wouldn't judge her for using it.
its less harmful than alcohol in most cases, it helps pain management with a number of serious conditions, and if people could obtain it from licenced bars, they'd be less likely to get it from dealers on the street who would eventually try to hook them on stronger substances.
I don't think legalising it is the answer, but decriminalising it certainly is. It's long overdue.
man I choose not to do it but do think it should be legalized. I got many friends who do and still love them just as much.
My f does t anage e ain from is d and es I think t hould e egalized or that ort f ing. I probably ill ry t nce ith im but ther han hat well we will ee what he fuck s e uge eal ver lant.
huh?
Lost Girl, Put it this way, If you ever start using weed, it'll leave you talking just like Jenny's last post here. You've been warned.
Apparently poster eleven was never informed of the evils of crack.
That as pretty messed...lol...
ginny, what the fuck was that?
I think it should be legalized too, but don't do it
I already do it, but not so much. My rrends and some of my cousins smoke so much more than I do. Only like every other weekend I'll get a little high.
The only thing I don't like about it is that it makes you really hungry and tired. That's ne f the reasons I on't do it too often.
One of** My bad.
I don't do it. I kind of think it should be illegal because I don't think it's a good idea for people to do it, but I also think it might be a good idea if it was still legal, because if it wasn't then people would do it even more.
I must say that I agree with the posters to this topic that it should be legal. It's been recommended by numerous highly qualified doctors for medicinal purposes, such as for eye surgeries, and, as previously stated, for help with cancer patients.
I think it should be legalized... It's a great medicinal aid, as previous posters have said. Plus, once in a while, it's a nice recreational thing, too. I mean, if you're getting stoned every day, then we have a little problem here, but I don't see anything wrong with doing it every now and again.
Wow, you'all are more conservative than I thought. Or maybe, less of a percent of blind people get high than the sighted, which is way over 50%, because they're scared, not given the opportunity, etc?
Ok, i was using ie 7 with jaws 7.1 when i wrote the last post in this topic,. What i had meant to say was that my bf did it sometimes and it should be legal cause its just a plant. except, not worded that way.
Well, I'm one of hte lucky ones who ahs tried weed first-hand and smoked it for nearly a year until I had to move. I can honestly say I enjoyed it, but these days I doubt I could afford any and besides, there's a kid in the house and I'd rather not expose him to the stuff. I don't think using weed or any mind or mood altering substance is for everybody, just because some folks might ahve a bad reaction to it. I'm also puzzled as to why weed is illegal as well as other drugs when cigarettes and alcohol are very legal and very socially aceptable but also have their particular dangers.
I agree completely with Godzilla-On-Toast. I've had ample opportunities to "indulge", as you might say (I did work at a radio station full of hippies after all. *grin*). I find the experience quite enjoyable, but would definitely agree that mind/mood-altering substances are not for everyone, which is why you find many who abstain from alcohol and the like.
My college has a program where students study abroad in a town near Amsterdam for a semester (the school owns a castle there), and the students who come back from the program are mostly appalled and disgusted by the "backwards" American government. This isn't because they can no longer go to "coffeeshops" and by a joint. It's because the Netherlands seems to be just fine even though marijuana is legal there.
Food for thought.
I agree with posts 11 and 20: but, I'm stoned too.
Bob
Lol, for some reason i didn't think this boar would go any longer then 10 posts, keep t rocking.
I've eaten weed brownies a number of years ago, talk about a weird way to get a buzz!
It's definitely nice once in a while but can easily turn into a habit if it's around regularly (I lived down the hall from a kid who would sell quarter and half pounds out of his dorm room and I got it for free pretty much whenever I wanted :)). This obviously resulted in some horrible grades my first year. But yeah... I also agree that it should be decriminalized.
yeah I agree it should be legalized because so many people smoke it , and yes alcohol and cigarettes are legal and they have their own dangers. I have friends who smoke weed or who have smoked it and I've heard that smoking weed is good for some medical issues, so yeah why don't they just legalize it!
I think that is bad. I have been accused of doing it because I have glaucoma and that would help my pressures but that doesn't cause me to agree with it any more.
Well, My sister did it, and it freaked me out. However, because of my stress levils lately, I'm considering tyring it, I dunnow though. I think it should be legal, though.
That';s just my thought.
Karrie
smoke them blunts all da time!
First, absolutely. Legalize, decriminalize, something needs to be done.
Second, to the guy buying quarter and half pounds, how the hell is *anyone* affording that? Short of growing it, I get the feeling that being a daily smoker these days will leave you broke and homeless.
I call myself a reformed pothead. In high school, I had no earthshattering responsibilities, so I smoked every day. Now, I like the occasional high with large amounts of clarity thrown in. I don't agree that people can't resist the temptation as I've had plenty of instances where it's around, and much like the snacks in my cupboards, it's easy to resist.
Hahahaha I never bought that much. Just knew someone who sold that much and I got it for free whenever. This was a good 5-6 years ago.
I'm seriously considering trying it for creative reasons as I know that in the right form it really sparks your creative side, and as a musician with a serious case of writer's block at the moment, I think it would really help. I'm scared though because I think I might get addicted to the buzz facter and I would never want to do it more than once in a while to open the creative gateway. However, I suppose I could have gotten addicted to alkahol and I never did, although cigarettes yes.
I just tried it for the first time Thursday night and loved it. I think it should be legalized, though I'm going to be careful about how I get high in the future. I haven't tried joints, but when I took a mssive bong hit, it about set my lungs on fire. I've heard of vaporizers and how they're supposed to be healthier because there's no tar and stuff. If anything, they should switch it around to make alcohol illegal and marijuana legal, but yeah, that's my $0.02
Hell yes it should be legal! I would smoke it again if I could as I injoyed doing it on occation, or for sometimes days on end. But I can stop anytime so its not an issue for me. Just can't at the moment cause I'm applying for this job and they do on the spot drug tests apparently. I hate feeling like a bad person cause I like it. People go home from work and have a beer or glass of wine, so why shouldn't I be able to go home from from a stressful day at work, and light it up? Its fucked up but I've been told its cause the government can't make a profit off it so that's why its illegal, and also probably cause of the image society's driven into it and shit. But I smoked about three weeks ago and it'll be four next monday and I was gonna go in for my interview on Thursday, March twenty second. I bought some pecton cause I heard that'll clean out your system like the next day if need be. I was wondering if anyone's tried this method and if it works and when you should take it. I was just gonna take like half a pack and mix it with sprite or something on Monday night, so that'll give me a week and I think I should be good. Don't really know if I need it, I might already be clean cause I only took like three hits the last itime and I read that it takes seven to ten days for moterate or light smoking and the THC to leave your system. And I also read it clings to fat cells which I don't need to worry about as I'm only one hundred pounds. Anyway if anyone has any thoughts I'd really apreciate them. Thanks a lot. And roll one up for me next time someone smokes. Oh, and the broke and homeless thing about dailly smokers, not true. My aunt works at a vetrenary hospital as a groomer and probably spends about two fourty each month or two and she works and has a nice house and obviously smokes everyday. So yeah, just a little info.
Peace
"I've heard of vaporizers and how they're supposed to
be healthier because there's no tar and stuff."
There's pretty much no smoke at all. It gets cooked and you're inhaling the vapor that that produces. Google "volcano vaporizer"; best "smoking" apparatus ever. Very expensive but pays for itself quickly (I don't have one but know someone who does).
I heard drink lots of water and lots of cranberry juice so you can piss out the weed. Anyone know if Pride Industries does drug testing like that since I'm thinking of looking for a job there. In that case, I better get crackin' on the cranberry juice and water myself, heehee.
lol! well its good to know i'm not the only one doing this shit. And i had no idea that crampbery juice and water helps flush out weed..haha
If you are looking for a job, or expect to in the next two to three months, you should stay away from the weed. If you can't stay away from the weed, then you definitely need to stay away from it forever.
If pot were legal in some form, then companies wouldn't have to do drug tests for it, and they could treat pot like they now treat liquor. If you show up to work stoned then you are out. What you do on your own time is up to you.
Now, the way it is, if you smoke weed, then you won't get hired. That's a real bummer and definitely something to think of.
Bob
I'm staying away from any form of it without a vaporizer anyway, seeing as I get major inflammation when I inhale. Seeing as those cost a lot of money, I think I can guarantee being OK for a job.
PlipPlopp, for what it's worth I have done both weed and cigarettes, and although I am now a half a pack a day smoker I can say no to weed even when drunk. Magical if it's a piss test your fine, if it's a hair test your fucked since that takes 90 to 120 days, although I've heard with some companys they don't test for weed just meth but I wouldn't bet on it.
Yay long live! weed!
Peace!!!! love!!!! and Marijuana!!!
Don't do it because it makes me paranoid, but yes, it should be legalized!!
Btw, Cranberry Juice, and water do not, in my experience, help to flush out the weed!!!!
Take it from someone who studies chemical dependency!!!!
I've seen and had many clients try various methods in order to beat a random drug test!!!
Again, I'm not opposed to weed personally, but while studying I must take such a position.
Also, THC levels tend to go up after a person quits smoking before they decline.
If you’re in a position to take a job that requires random tests, take this fact in to consideration.
For example: if one exercises, the THC levels will climb, so simply stay away from the weed. Just my advice/thoughts.
If you can’t avoid testing, just be honest about whatever results are found, and do the best you can, but I can tell you it takes more than thirty days for weed to clear your system.
Most tests are specifically looking for THC levels, not much else in the way of weed.
Good luck in your endeavor!!!!!
I smoked pot in my younger days, and I certainly think it should be legalized, but I think it is highly overrated by both its supporters and its detractors. I can't comment on its medical applications, because I just don't know anything about that. As for its recreational use, though, I just don't think it's that big a deal. Some people will enjoy it and some won't, but it's fairly harmless. Personally, I'd rather read a good book or listen to good music.
If you think about what caffine does to you vs. weed it's stupid why it's not legalized. Not only that, why should beer and stuff like that be legall when weed isn't? Seems like some backwards idiots are making the decisions.
I enjoy it once in a while, though I certainly understand the dangers of weed opening the gates for some people to do harder stuff. I love the smell, the feeling it gives me, and I generally don't do it unless I'm with friends, away from my son, and in a position where I feel in control of my surroundings, (able to get home should my friends pass out or ditch me 'cuz they've had too much to drink, etc.) I agree with Matt that is is definitely less dangerous than alcohol, and I do think it should be decriminalized.
I don't see nothing wrong with weed. I partied a lot when in my late teen's and twenty's. I do it once in a great while but turn it down more than I smoke it. I also think think it should be legal, I think it would make crimes go down, and you don't run the risk of getting it laced with some crap. Just my thoughts.
Mmm, weed! I definitely think it should be legalized, since it's much less dangerous than alcohol, cigarrettes, and many other legal and illegal drugs. I can honestly say that weed gave me a whole different frame of mind, and introduced me to many new things, most importantly, music. I loved the creative edge it gave me as a musician, and as an ocasional writer. I haven't done it since last summer, and since I'm trying to find a job, probably won't for a while, but as soon as I can get my hands on some... My bong needs a work out! Please take a hit for me.
Smoking weed is terrible, it's horrible, it's just the most awful thing you can do for yourself. So please, don't smoke weed.
Ah, you get my drift, now excuse me; my brownies are done...
lmao alex
lol
The brownies didn't do anything for me, and everyone else that ate them with me were high off there asses. Light weights...
Never smoked it, don't think i'm going to. I have friends who do though.
Nope. Not my kind of thing, but you guys go right ahead. It's not affecting me in my corner of the world.
I'll never smoke it either.
will never do that stuff.
i wanna try brownies, i'm an easy bake as it is so could only imagine what brownies will do to me lol
I'd love to be able to get high off of them, but I've heard unanimously that smoking it is better.
Hey, if I could get over the urge to puke, I might consider trying it, but as it stands, I just can't stomach the smell. Gross. In saying that, I am tolerant of people smoking such substances. I say tolerant because I know people smoke it for medicinal purposes, but that's all. Not sure I condone the whole, smoke every day all the time, deal, just as I don't condone drinking 'til you're so damn wasted you can't stand on your own.
First of all, my approach to most new experiences in life is never say never. As for the brownies, I had a brownie once that was very small and very intense far as the high I got from it. I made brownies myself using some instructions I found on the net as to how to incorporate the weed into the butter used to make the brownies. It wasn't as intense a ride as the other stuff I had, but it either was the particular grade of weed I could afford or else I just needed to use more. Still quite pleasant and could take the edge off the day.
Anyone who is interested in trying brownies, keep in mind that because you are breaking the substance down by digestion, it will take a longer time for the high to kick in. When it does, it's a heavy and more intense sensation. Smoking will get the job done much faster, within a couple of minutes, but it is not as intense.
Also, the type of weed you use does matter even if you are eating it. I'm not a smoker, so for me, smoking weed is out of the question. I just don't like it. But, chocolaty brownies? Yummy and, you get all intense! It's a magic combination.
Magic brownies aren't known for their taste though. They actually taste like you're eating them out of a sarcofagus. But yeah, my friends were high for a really long time, which bummed me out a lot.
I think it should be legal because it's no worse than alcohol or cigarettes. As long as it's used in moderation, anyway. And if it were legalized, I think people would be more informed about the risks, and be less likely to try it just because they want to be rebels or because it's "not that bad." It's like somebody else said, if you could buy it, then it wouldn't be considered a gateway drug. After all, how many times have you heard cigarettes called a gateway drug? And they're much more physically addictive than weed. Weed hasn't even be proven to be physically addictive, meaning it has no adverse withdrawal symptoms when the person tries to stop taking it like heroin or even alcohol. There are people addicted to nicotine and alcohol, and in extreme cases, even caffeine, making it very hard to break away from those substances. So why not make something slightly less harmful legal? Plus there's the whole thing about its use in medicine, but that topic has been pretty well covered, so I won't elaborate on that.
I've never tried it and do not think I will 'cuz of its illegality. I don't smoke cigarettes or drink either, so there u go. I have a friend that does do it every day, which has led to her getting kicked out of college 'cuz of her poor grades. She also drinks every day, which doesn't help either, but at least, it's legal. I have considered law school, so I think it would probably look bad on me if I, being a potential lawyer, would do it. Although I can't speak about the medical purposes of it, it could be fine, as long as the doctor prescribes it in moderation. Just don't get addicted to it.
LOL Janelle. Your post : i wanna try brownies, i'm an easy bake as it is so could only imagine what brownies will do to me lol. I am falling off my chair! Let me know how they treat you!
I don't smoke it but second hand smells nice now and then.
Hey I don't smoke weed. I've tried it, but I'm like a poster above. It makes me paranoid. These days I wonder if I shouldn't use it to try to calm down. Anyway, for those who are wondering how to pass a piss test. Niacin. You can get it at wal-mart. I forgot exactly how much of it to take but just google niacin and drug test. but yeah you'll pass with flying colors. A lot of people nowwhen they test, they also test for the stuff that cleans your system. If they find it you automatically fail. Niacin is just a b12 vitamin so not tracable. I know this because my sister is the biggest pothead on the planet and I went to a school where they did random drug tests. All the kids knew how to passs. There is some food for thought.
Weed once in a wile does not hert.
Yeah, might need to pass one pretty soon, and I've been smoking a lot lately. Does cramberry juice really work? It tastes like it would... ugh.
Hi, I don't like pot. But when I tried it, I was really hammered. I don't like the sort of woozy feeling. Personally, I think it should be kept illegal. I know so many people who are so dumb cause they've spent too much time stoned. Yeah, alcohol and cigarettes are dangerous, so why add another dangerous substance. It does cause cancer, and for many people it is a gateway drug. As for medicinal purposes, they need to work out a better system. Cause the one they have in California is a joke. I know alcohol is dangerous, but personally, i find drunk people to be more funny. I don't mind the smell, but only in very small quantities.
there are some real good articles on the whole weed history. how it was villianized, used to keep blacks subjated, and how some industry's used thier clout to make it illegal. in these tought econimic times weed could be exploited to out benifit. if, for example it was legal a whole new industry could be created. ropes, clothes, plastics, even fuel could be a by product of hemp. we all know the constitution and the declaration of independence are all written on hemp. history also tells us the foundeing fathers use to farm it in droves. weed also has medicanal purposes, its less harmful then beer and cigs, its natural not refined, it helps me calm down and with my eye pain. most of you know i puff religiously! lol well. not realy, but i do smoke about a bag every two weeks or so. like everything else its all about moderation. dont abuse it. dont plan your day around it. ty for reading this , gizmo puff away
Hemp is not the same plant as canibus. They are similar, but not the same.
It’s not completely irrational to smoke or sell it, but I won’t deny it can destroy things. It could effect you, yes. I don’t do it, probably never will, and don’t like it, but if people smoke it around the world, I don’t exactly mind.
Well, it's your life... If you choose to do it and get addicted, That's on you. I'd personally never do it.
I might occasionally do it. I've done it once. I didn't dislike it, but it's not something that has to be done. I've got a friend who is in constant pain, literally constant, whenever she eats, but if she doesn't eat more often she'll get sicker faster than we do and die. Weed's the only thing that helps her.
Jenni's keyboard's fucked, the first letter of each word won't show up.
I dont do that, it's not cool
